As someone that follows the travel news, there are lots of stories that focus on the challenges that must be overcome before we can travel freely again, but this page is dedicated to the positive stories. I aim to regularly post links to positive travel news stories, highlighting destinations and organizations that are trying to find solutions so that we can explore the world again. Thanks to the work of the government and people of Iceland containing the pandemic, this amazing country and its wild landscapes, will be already accessible to many international tourists. Icelandair’s flight schedule will be revised on July 1st, possibly adding further destinations.

I have been referred to Madeira as the little New Zeland from the Atlantic, and honestly I loved exploring the kiwi country. Sailing or road-tripping the islands of Madeira would surely be a wonderful summer adventure.

Amazing food, beautiful beaches, stunning landscape, wonderful culture, incredible history - Italy really has it all. After visiting Italy many times and I can’t recommend this destination enough!

Road tripping and exploring the beaches and coast of the Algarve sounds like an amazing plan, so this is very welcome news.

One of my bucket list destinations, so good to know I might have the chance soon! I hear the food (I have been told to try a Banh-Mi???), nature and people are all incredible - and I also really want to try their speciality coffee.

While I am yet to visit these destinations, including Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia, and this bubble will not yet enable me to do so, it is still good to see countries taking proactive steps to support tourism and provide hope for other destinations.

I have flown with Qatar to different destinations, including The Philippines and The Maldives, and it would be nice to travel East again – Maldives is one place I want to revisit for sure!

Good to see that Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands) has a plan to reopen that includes sustainable tourism considerations

Nice article that highlights some of the ‘silver linings’ of the current situation and it is true that perhaps we have an opportunity to “promote sustainable tourism without reverting to old ways again”
